مَّثَلُ ٱلَّذِينَ يُنفِقُونَ أَمْوَٰلَهُمْ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ كَمَثَلِ حَبَّةٍ أَنۢبَتَتْ سَبْعَ سَنَابِلَ فِى كُلِّ سُنۢبُلَةٍۢ مِّا۟ئَةُ حَبَّةٍۢ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ يُضَٰعِفُ لِمَن يَشَآءُ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ وَٰسِعٌ عَلِيمٌ
Al-Baqarah · 2:261English
The example of those who spend their wealth in the way of Allah is like a seed [of grain] which grows seven spikes; in each spike is a hundred grains. And Allah multiplies [His reward] for whom He wills. And Allah is all-Encompassing and Knowing.

مَنْ بَنَى مَسْجِدًا لِلَّهِ بَنَى اللَّهُ لَهُ مِثْلَهُ فِي الْجَنَّةِ

Whoever builds a masjid for Allah, Allah will build for him one like it in Paradise.

Children come every day to memorise the Qur'an, and carry what they memorise for the rest of their lives. Iftar on the long nights. Rations carried out to families who never asked publicly. This is the part nobody photographs, and it is the part worth showing.

Most of it does not need a form, an appointment, or money. Come to the masjid and ask — there is no process to go through.
Washing, shrouding, the prayer and the burial. Call at any hour — there is no form for this, and nobody is turned away for money.
Come to the masjid, any hourThe imam performs the nikah at the masjid or at your home, with the paperwork witnessed and registered.
At the masjidAnyone wishing to accept Islam is welcome without appointment. You will be taught wudu and salah, and nobody will rush you.
At the masjidMarriage, debt, grief, a question about deen. Free, private, and the imam keeps what is said to himself.
At the masjidChildren come every day to memorise the Qur'an with a qari, at their own pace. Some finish, some carry a few juz for life; both are kept. Ask at the masjid about joining.
At the masjidQur'an reading and basic deen for children, mornings and after Asr. No child is refused for inability to pay the fee.
At the masjidMonthly flour, rice, oil and lentils to families in the surrounding chaks. Referrals are kept confidential.

Some of it. Rations, medical help and support for students in need are zakat-eligible. Electricity, construction and the imam's wage are not — those are sadaqah. When you give, say which you intend; zakat is held and reported as a separate fund with its own balance.
The open ledger on this site is being started now. Once it runs, every rupee in and out will be listed there with a photograph of the receipt, downloadable by anyone without asking. Until the first entries are written, the honest answer is that you are trusting the trustees — and that is exactly what the ledger exists to replace. We will also publish what is spent on running costs rather than claiming every rupee reaches the poor, because no masjid can honestly claim that.
Yes, and most people do. Cash given at the masjid is written into the same ledger by the treasurer with a note, so it appears in the totals like everything else. You do not have to give your name.
No. Donor names are never published anywhere on this site. Anonymity in sadaqah is the higher position, and we would rather keep it that way for everyone than make it an option some people have to ask for.
Yes, any day, without an appointment. You will not be asked to do anything, and nobody will try to convert you. If you want to know what is happening during a prayer, ask and someone will explain it.
A trustee board. The chairman signs off every payment and the treasurer keeps the accounts and answers for them. Their names go on this page as soon as each of them has agreed to it.

مَن ذَا الَّذي يُقرِضُ اللَّهَ قَرضًا حَسَنًا
Electricity, water, the imam, the madrasah teachers, and the rations that go out on Thursdays. Unglamorous, and it is what a masjid actually runs on.

1Give at the masjid — the box by the door, or hand it to the treasurer after any prayer.
2Ask for it to be written into the ledger, and say whether it is zakat or sadaqah.
